In a charming Eastern European city on the eve of war,
a young American architect and a gifted pianist build a life together,
only to be torn apart by catastrophe and forced to discover whether love, memory,
and the things they leave behind can survive history itself.

VISUAL PROOF OF CONCEPT

This short film was created by Feli di Giorgio as an early exploration of the tone,
atmosphere, and visual language of The Gift.

Though not a direct adaptation of scenes from the screenplay, it captures the romantic atmosphere,
lush Technicolor imagery, production design and storybook aesthetic that define the film’s prewar world.

The custom three-strip Technicolor emulation process was developed and refined during the creation
of the piece.

The short serves as a cinematic introduction to the world of The Gift and reflects the charm, warmth,
and heightened storybook quality that characterize the film’s opening act.
